Latest US Olympics Controversy:

US Olympic uniforms were made in China….Lions, tigers, and bears; oh My! It is reported that, “Ralph Lauren, NBC, Visa, and McDonalds were the fuel behind American Olympic success, because they pay to be associated with the brand.”

Harry Reid, Senator Majority Leader reported, “The team should be clothed with “made in the USA” garb, even if that meant wearing raggedy singlets painted with “USA.” But the question now for everyone is “Will this happen?” “Is it too late to change?”

Harry Reid and other members of congress were able to get what they wanted and that is “future US Olympic uniforms will be made right here in the United States of America. To see more on the Olympics visit:

Let’s run down the road to some politics…

What the ‘ham’ and ‘cheese’ Mitt Romney gave a speech at the NAACP….was this a sign of bravery for him or did he crash and burn?

First, I want to say that Vertikal Magazine is not here to endorse any political candidate but we are here to state the facts:

On July 11, 2012 Twitter was blowing up with all types of responses about the speech that Mitt Romney made at the NAACP…. But what stood out to me was one post in particular, that stated “At least Mitt Romney showed up….” And show up is exactly what he did, alongside a room full of people who booed him

Mary C. Curtis from the Washington Post reported, “Despite accusations to the contrary, Mitt Romney does get it. No one can go in front of the NAACP and talk of “Obamacare,” a derisive term meant to provoke, and completely ignore the group’s well-publicized concerns over Voter ID laws without getting it.”

Roland S. Martin pointed out numerous things about Mitt’s speech, but one thing in particular that we want to highlight here is that Roland Martin addressed, “What Mitt Romney did not say during his NAACP speech”

First, Roland Martin stated, “Mitt Romney should be ashamed about his

“When I mentioned I was going to get rid of ObamaCare they weren’t happy…That’s okay I want people to know what I stand for and if I don’t stand for what they want then go vote for someone else…But I hope people understand this, your friends who like Obamacare, you remind them of this, if they want more FREE stuff from government then go vote for the other guy – but don’t forget nothing is really free it has to be paid for by the people in the private sector.”

Mitt Romney wants tax cuts across the board….

Next, Roland pointed out, “Tax cuts are not free” …R & D dollars are the tax cuts that corporations get….Thirdly, The Bush Administration tax cuts played a critical role in increasing our deficit in our country… Most importantly, he focused on how Mitt Romney stated,

“If you invite me back next year and I’m President, I’ll come back and we can work together,” but then he(Mitt Romney) made this comment, “They want free stuff!”

Oh my!

Roland Martin, made sure he pointed out that “There are broke poor white people in the states that he(Mitt Romney) are trying to win and we have to deal with the reality that they also have bad healthcare, that’s the NAACP bent”

Our question for you is “Do you think the boos that Mitt Romney received were warranted? Inquiring minds want to know?

Now let’s flip the script to Entertainment

Two years ago, I think most of us were bopping our heads to Willow’s Smith ‘I whip my hair back-n-forth’. The hook of the song was catch just like Willow’s unique hairstyles and the way she dressed. The whole world was watching insomuch that we all couldn’t wait to see what she would do next….

Well, recently Willow Smith shared a photo on her Instagram with her friend Bobbie Debarge wearing a tongue ring.

“A tongue ring at 11!”

Yes, sir…yes ma’am. We know that Will and Jada have always been huge supporters of their children expressing themselves, but a tongue ring at 11 is that pushing it too far?? Well, some parents on various blogs thought so…

However the tongue ring is not an actual piercing…but an insert

Let us hear your thoughts about piercing and tattoos…Inquiring minds would love to know.
